The Old Times

Established 1967

In a small town, a man sees a body hanging in public; no one else seems to notice. As he investigates, he learns that “other people” have been conditioned to ignore it.

Themes: group blindness, enforced consensus, the suppression of dissenting perception.

This ties to echo chambers, selective visibility, and how social media can blind users to things that don’t match the algorithmic consensus.
